Our last is cut wider through the ball and shallower at the instep than a European one. If you are between sizes, take the smaller: the upper gives about half a size in the first fortnight and never comes back.

Measuring your foot
Stand on a sheet of paper in the evening, when your foot is at its largest, and mark the heel and the longest toe. Measure between the marks and read the centimetre column. Do both feet and go by the bigger one.
